AJ is a senior at Ridge High School interested in engineering, environmental sustainability, and physics. In 2021, AJ was a New Jersey finalist in the Stockholm Junior Water Prize Competition for a robot his team designed to harness biofuel from algae blooms, which derived itself from his interests in renewable energy. He often writes about his goals for expanding sustainable initiatives in the International Youth Scientists Journal, for which he is executive director, and likes learning about solar, wind, and nuclear energy—both science and policy. He is also very involved in planning retreats and volunteer events with his local youth ministry, and traveled with his ministry to Delaware and Connecticut for summer service trips in 2021 and 2022. In his free time, AJ enjoys hiking with his dog or hanging out at the beach. In the future he would like to further explore the intersection of sustainability, technology, and entrepreneurship.
