Chang Yaramothu, PhD, FAAO

Dr. Chang Yaramothu, PhD, FAAO is an Assistant Professor of Engineering Technology and Biomedical Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), with a focus on brain injury and neural plasticity. His research centers on making medicine objective and quantitative by utilizing cutting-edge technologies, such as virtual reality headsets and easy-to-use tools, to diagnose concussions and design personalized therapeutic regimens. Dr. Yaramothu’s work has resulted in patents around the world, and he co-founded a biotech startup called OculoMotor Technologies, which uses virtual reality technology for delivering therapeutic interventions in the optometric and brain injury fields. He serves as its CEO. He was recognized as a Digi-Tech Innovator by NJBiz Magazine in 2020, was elevated as a Senior Member of the National Academy of Inventors in 2024, and named a Fellowship of the American Academy of Optometry.
