Devin Torres
Devin Torres is a junior at Lenape High School. He has been elected as student body president for the class of 2023 for three consecutive years. He has recently conducted research on the Amygdala Theory of Autism and hypothesized that Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy could correct a damaged amygdala, thus alleviating autism. Through the Rutgers RUSE program, Devin researched the ability of ultraviolet light to detect certain unwanted pathogens and particles, which he applied to a device that placed second overall in a pitch competition. He is also the co-founder of a nonprofit organization, Giving Cycle, which serves to encourage philanthropy among middle school-aged students. In the future, Devin aspires to found a biomedical engineering company and design new equipment to save and positively change lives.
