Dylan Gray

2025 Scholar

Dylan Gray is a senior at the Biomedical Sciences Academy of the Hunterdon County Academies. Dylan leads STEM projects as president of the Research Club, and promotes STEM awareness and public service as co-president of the Red Cross Club and as a member of the National Honor Society, National Science Honor Society and National Math Honor Society. He has participated in the Hofstra University Summer Science Research Program, where he modeled and analyzed biochemical molecule interactions and implications for cystic fibrosis; the Rutgers Institute for Translational Medicine and Science Summer Research Program, where he researched and conducted multifaceted protocol experiments on airway diseases at a cellular and molecular level; and the Rutgers University Waksman Institute Summer Experience, where he cloned bacteria and purified and analyzed sequences of duckweed DNA, which were published on the GenBank database. In addition to Dylan’s passion for STEM, he is an avid martial artist, holding a black belt in Taekwondo and a grey belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and works part time as an instructor at his martial arts school. He is also on his school’s varsity fencing team foil squad. Dylan hopes to pursue a career in cellular and molecular biology research in the future.
