Leo Jasper
Leo Jasper is a senior at Columbia High School in Maplewood. He has been the captain of the school’s FIRST Tech Challenge robotics team for four years and qualified for the state tournament in 2020 after winning the Robo-Catastrophe qualifier. Leo participated in NYU’s SPARC program where he enhanced his coding, building, and engineering skills. As a cancer survivor, Leo has a particular interest in biomedical engineering, believing that there is a better way to make prosthetics feel more real and comfortable, especially for children. Outside of STEM, Leo loves playing baseball and working at his local YMCA as a summer counselor. He is also the co-founder of the annual “Sweet Leo’s” bake sale, which benefits the Valerie Fund Cancer Center for kids.
