Maya Baireddy

Maya Baireddy is a sophomore at High Technology High School. She has a passion for robotics and space exploration. She competed in the AI-oriented RoboCup Junior competition, placing first in the USA and second in the world in the Netherlands in 2024. Her project involved developing a machine learning model capable of interpreting American Sign Language (ASL) and converting it into music on a piano, aimed at enhancing ASL’s accessibility and promoting inclusivity for the deaf community. Maya is researching the impact of neutron star mass ratios on gravitational waves generated during merger events. She founded an astronomy interest group in her school, which brings students together to observe events like eclipses and discuss the latest advancements in space research. In addition to her research, Maya is an active member of her school’s Robotics and Research clubs. She teaches girls in the CypHER program held by her school's Robotics and Coding Club. She works as an instructor in robotics and computer science at Storming Robots in Branchburg. She aspires to become a robotics engineer and contribute to the advancement of aerospace technologies. Maya enjoys caring for plants, building furniture, fencing, and spending time outdoors.
