Omoyemi Falana

2025 Scholar

Omoyemi Falana is a sophomore at Union County Academy for Allied Health Sciences. She has been an active member of HOSA for two years and after competing in a medical innovation event she has been researching different ways she can use technology to improve mental health. Omoyemi is deeply involved with Rutgers University's Upward Bound Math-Science program and is a dedicated member of their National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE JR) club. She recently worked a summer job at Plainfield's Neighborhood Health Services Corporation, where she gained unique insight into the realities of healthcare professionals working in the pediatric, dental, adult medicine, and OB/GYN fields. Through her role, she was able to assist with packaging essentials like hygiene products, food, and school supplies for the struggling community members. With a strong passion for biochemistry, Omoyemi aspires to be a dermatologist, believing she can find solutions to combat skin diseases and bring relief to those affected. Outside her academics, Omoyemi enjoys listening to music and reading graphic novels at her local library.
