Shrutee Sangeeta Behera
Shrutee Sangeeta Behera is a sophomore at Dr. Ronald E. McNair Academic High School. Her passion for STEM has translated into various victories in research-related competitions. This includes medaling in past science fairs as well as winning first place in the Rubisco Ideathon where she researched the pathogenicity of S. Aureus and S. Typhi. Shrutee has taken initiative within a new online school environment in many ways. As a representative in the student council, she actively uses her platform to give the student body a voice. She has also represented the school in Mock Trial competitions this year, winning 1st place in the regional competition. Shrutee takes an active role in her community, interning at a New Jersey non-profit that provides musical coaching to low-income communities within Jersey City. She has also explored teaching avenues related to STEM, participating in the MyriED program as the teacher of a geometry course over the summer. Ultimately, Shrutee is passionate, driven and determined. She hopes to use the opportunities given to her to make a real difference in the world.
